Default Service Engine Light

Does anyone know if the service engine light is based on miles or if it is truly that something is wrong with the engine.....it seems to be running fine....just wondering if its another scan for Pontiac to make money....thanx

SES means something is wrong. It could be something as small as not tightening the gas cap enough, but something has set a code. Time for a scanning...

BTW, I hear Autozone will scan your car for free.

yes AutoZone will scan the car for free and tell you what codes and all that...
