if its going in the place off ttops no T-tops > really loud obnoxious music.... NOBODY else wants to hear your music in traffic...... Stock speakers play music too.

How often do you go to the track? What does the sub and enclosure weigh? 100 pounds is good for about .10 at the track. I doubt your sub and enclosure weighs anywhere near that. If your not pulling everything else out of the car to loose weight, a sub is not going to make that much difference at the track.

Put it in. I added a stealthbox with an Alpine 10" sub and I don't know how I listened to music without it. Your only adding weight to the rear of the car, it might even help with traction and its not much, maybe 50lbs with the the box, sub, and amplifier.

And just because you have a sub doesn't mean you are trying to make everyone in the neighborhood hear you from a mile away. I sound deadened my car and with my system turned up fairly loud you can barely hear it if you stand outside the car with the doors closed.

But you can always take the sub out when you go to the track especially if you have a stealth box. Remove the 2 speakers wires, lift out the box.

if done right should be very easy to remote sub/box which is majority of the weight. the amp doesnt weigh much at all unless its a monster

There you go. If you want it, put it in. 50# is nothing. It might cost you .05 at the track. You would have to go to the track a lot more than 5 times a year to be consistent enough for that 50 pounds to make a difference.

install a sub. Just don't go overboard with the system.

Since it seems like you're worried about the added weight, Sell the sub and box and buy a set of CDT ES-06, which will put out some impressive bass for it's size(6.5") Or for even better bass get a set of CDT HD-M6+.
Mount these in the factory sub location(sail panels).
the ES-06 will drop right in, but the HD-M6+ will around a 1/4" spacer between it and mounting surface, or the metal behind it in the sail panel massaged back around 1/4".
I'm currently running a set of CDT HD-M6+ as low midrange/ subwoofers while My IDMAX10s are out of the car, and they are impressive little speakers.

Just put it in, when I go to the track, I leave in my 2 12's, spare tire, back pack, books, you get the idea. I'm assuming it's a street car like mine, so why take everything out or worry about weight when most of your driving is not at the track. When you go to the track you can pull it out if you just have to, buts thats not going to reflect how it performs on the street when a vett pulls up next to you on the way home from work. Those are my thoughts.
