Question ???headlight PROBLEM.....

cut the red-orange wire behind the switch and removed the wire and also removed the ambient light sensor and spliced the wires together and when i turn the headlights on, all 4 turn on passenger side dimmer than driver side

could it be electrical like battery or alternator? couldnt see why it would be the alternator tho. car isnt running at the moment

Why would you cut the red/orange wire? And do the lights go back to normal when you reconnect it?

The reason I asked is because shorting the light sensor wires disables the automatic headlights - so why cut wires?

I recommend reconnecting the red/orange wire (just splice the cut ends back together) and checking if your problem goes away.

There are two red and one orange wires at the headlight switch. One red provides constant (battery) power from a fusible link. The orange provides constant power from the TAIL LPS fuse. And the other red wire goes to the DRL module behind the radio.

i should be more specific. the red-orange wire came from pin G behind the switch. where does this wire end up?

That wire goes to position D of the black 8-pin connector at the DRL module.

That wire provides power to the automatic headlight relay inside the DRL module. I can't see how it would cause the particular symptoms you describe but when something goes wrong immediately after a modification, it's best to undo the mod first to confirm it didn't cause the problem.

hey man, i think i found my problem. when i was doing the body harness and engine harness mod, i pulled the LH and the RH wires in the underhood fuse box. do u have a diagram for the juntion boxes under the hood? or know which wires to re-connect?

note*my car came with fog lights but i did away with those. probably why i accidentally pulled the LH and RL wires because i think they were inter-connected with the red wire
