Default Big three

Well, I just finished installing battery cables from Innovative Wiring that consist of 2AWG wire for the + & - battery cables, starter, alternator, fuse block and ground and the ground to the engine block. This was a true quality product and I couldn't be happier. This combined with the Power Master alternator gives me plenty of amperage to run my system.

The 2AWG was already made and wrapped by Innovative Wiring to look OEM. I wanted to keep the OEM look and I called Power Master, who said 2AWG would be fine for their 150 amp alternator.

0AWG is nice I'll admit, some might say a little OVERKILL. But, that's why there's the phrase "Go BIG, or go home!"

These cables are a little stiffer than stock.

The install will take a little while, but it isn't bad - after dropping the starter, it wasn't bad at all, but I did have a lot of stuff removed at the time like the radiator that made it much easier. As stated, the wires are stiffer than stock, so they are a little harder to work with, but I love mine.

A friend had a lift which made it a lot easier. About 1 hour to take off the old cables and install the new cables. MeentSS02 said he had to drop the starter and I considered it, but was able to use a ratchet with a swivel on the ground to the engine block that's located above the starter (very tight fit). My install was on a LS1 though, I don't know about the LT1. My voltage meter stays steady even under a load. I put a load on the battery with a tester and it is steady at 14.4 volts.

Yep - that ground bolt ate my lunch, so I decided dropping the starter was better than me royally screwing up my hands. It probably didn't help that I did mine laying on my back...
