Default Does something like this exist?

I was driving my friend's '05 GTO, and noticed that it would give you the average mpg your car was getting. I though, "Man, that would be awesome if I could see that in my WS6."

So I was wondering if there was something aftermarket that I could buy that will tell me this kind of info. Whether it be something I had to wire in, or any other way.

Without having to get a car computer or a miniature laptop in your car, one of your options is Dashdaq and I believe it was offered by a sponser on here once.
Another option is "REV", basically its an application to be used on iphone/itouch and it connects to a small bluetooth device that plugs into obd2 port and reads various types of data.

"Rev can display things like vehicle speed, RPM, fuel consumption, calculated engine load, and a host of other parameters. You'll even be able to check and reset engine and error codes.

The only hitch is that you need an OBD-II/WLAN interface that can beam the information from the port to the phone."

Lol, that depends... In the city, HELL no I don't want to know. But on the highway, yes. I would like to know.

Oh, and about the Dashdaq... I want to know my average MPG... But not so badly that I wanna spend $700. Lol.

I've always heard that theyre not accurate anyway. But on the highway in my Audi, doing 80mph, it says im getting 39mpg as long as i keep it under 3k away from the turbo, itll stick to that. And according to my own calculations time and time again, its proven true. What is absolutely inaccurate is the remaining mileage calculator. It'll say i have 2o miles left nad then itll say zero and i wont have to get gas till the next day. Sometime itll say i have 50 miles left and ill be pracitcally pushing it to the pump as it speaks. lol. Its an alright thing to have if it came with your car, but not something worth going to trouble to add. If you dont know when you're going to need gas, you need to start flintstoning your *** around!

The distance to empty in all our cars are pretty damn accurate as well as the MPG is always pretty close this includes mini cooper, c5 vette, s197 mustang, and lexus es330. in the vette the MPG is usually off 1-2 but the other cars are always within 1mpg
