Monsoon listed on window sticker If your car came with Monsoon would it read that way on the window sticker.
If it is not a monsoon what would change on the wiring instructions listed by whitebird in FAQ for a 98 convertible. I search around but could not seem to find the answer.

Mine listed it as an additional $100 option: "Monsoon 500 watt (peak) premium sound system electronically tuned....bunch of other stuff....8 speakers and auxiliary amp (replaces std/opt pkg radio)." Does it have the monsoon logo on the radio face?

Look on the option code label on the driver's door jamb - for convertibles (both Camaro and Firebird), X10 is Monsoon cassette and X20 is Monsoon CD.

How does this effect the wiring color instructions you have already been so kind to offer.
I am going to add CDT's and want to make sure they are wired correctly.

The base model audio system in convertibles consisted of two 4-ohm door speakers and two 10-ohm "extended range" quarter speakers. Wire colors were:
LF+ Tan
LF- Gray
RF+ Light Green
RF- Dark Green
LR+ Brown
LR- Yellow
RR+ Dark Blue
RR- Light Blue
A premium speaker configuration was available in Firebird convertibles (RPOs W59 and W73). It had 4-ohm component speakers in the doors and 10-ohm coaxial speakers in the quarters. The wire colors for the quarter panel speakers were the same as above, the wire colors for the doors were:
LF mid+ Dark Blue
LF mid- Light Blue
LF tweeter+ Tan
LF tweeter- Gray
RF mid+ Light Green
RF mid- Dark Green
RF tweeter+ Orange
RF tweeter- Dark Green
LF+ Tan
LF- Gray
RF+ Light Green
RF- Dark Green
LR+ Brown
LR- Yellow
RR+ Dark Blue
RR- Light Blue

Another stupid ?
I would have to use a cross over correct?
It looks as if each door speaker has some type small board assuming its some type of filter.
Colud I take the wires coming off these boards and connect them to the cdt speakers-tweeters?
