Default driver Side window doesn't work

my driver side window will not go down. When you press the button, you hear a noise from under the dash, that my be normal though. The passenger side window works. What could be the problem?
thanks.

Sounds like the ever-popular oh-so-infamous burnt out window motor.

Or it could be frozen (New England weather). Mine was this morning. It went down a 1/4in and that was it. I had to get out to use the toll booth this morning. As the day went on, it warmed up and started working. I think I need to lube up the mechanism. Maybe you are experienceing the same thing. Otherwise, like OctaneZ28 said, the motor is burnt.

While you're at it, go ahead and replace both motors. It's easy to do. Buy your new window motor from AutoZone. They come with a lifetime replacement policy.

Are those Autozone window motors faster and more powerful than stock?
My windows are the slowest that I have ever used. A 2003 Hyundai Sonata LX that I rented (nice car actually) had better power windows.

Yes, they are. They are actually Siemens motors, and work very well.

There is an article about power windows in the "How To" section.
