Default Custom sub box, Interested come in

Hey guys/gals, so yesterday I was bored outta my mind, I saw the subs that I had gotten for Christmas and thought...Holy S*** I still have those. So I went to home depot to price some sheets of MDF and bought it with a can of liquid nails ( greatest stuff invented yet). So any way I had taken measurments already and had a template, so all I needed to do was trace and cut. Now know this that a 1st time useing a Jigsaw is a pain, but I got use to it. From there just measure the space you have behind the front piece to get an accurate length of how far each side should go back, Make pieces and glue together. Check the picks

First trace out of cardboard

Trace and cut that piece

Then retro fit how the box is going to go in

^This side fit perfectly its the drivers side Im having an issue with

Where'd it go????

There it is "Steathy"

Then this is the drivers side, being a little biotch to go in

To hold it all together

Whats going in these boxes

All the MDF left 3/4 of the sheet

This is what happens when there's wind and ur cutting next to ur car

A P-90 formed out of a broken piece + a sharpee helped

There not done yet, tomorrow I will do some more work since the drivers side needs to be fit and holes need to be cut open

Default Completion

Ok so today I picked up some charcoal fabric from best buy and finished off the 2 boxes

I measured each side made a circumference with a pencil and a nail then cut a hole with the Jigsaw, and finished it off with a router

Carpeted and cut

Then Staple gunned

Both sides completed

Who said a 12" sub wouldn't fit??

Just fits perfectly

I bet they sound like crap. They are pretty much just being suspended out in the open. I wouldnt really call that a box. I suggest fully closing them.

How about respect to t/s parameters and air space requirements of the drivers? You are running them free air. Expect them to blow with any moderate amount of power and to sound absolutely horrible. You cannot just throw a subwoofer into a partially made box with a random volume of air and expect it to work.

You should do a little bit more research into WHY subwoofers go into enclosures at all.

This is a fantastic site to get you started. Nothing like building your first box, but a little knowledge and research would have saved you the wasted effort.

Obviously. I just dont get why you would do the last step of covering the box before even finishing the box.

Oh. LOL I thought you were going to leave it like that. Did you check your air space?
