Yes they will work. I have the spr-17s in mine and it works fine. I took the factory connector off the orginal speaker and soldered it to the new speaker so I wouldnt have to butt splice any wires or anything.

That's a common misconception, Engine_HP. Biamping only gives you more power if:

-You have speaker drivers that need different voltages to drive, and your amplifiers take this into account
-You have multiple woofers and drive them separately

so i took the door panel off and pulled the speaker, it has a 4 wire connector. So i guess it is a monsoon car. I hadnt checked it out, but my father in law told me it wasnt so i was just going by what he said, so it wont be as simple as i first thought. Thanks for the info guys!!

Those Alpine Type-R's are GREAT speakers but you really need an amp to get the most out of them.

I've put them in on just an aftermarket radio, which is definitely stronger than stock, and it really didn't sound as good as it should.

You may get by with the monsoon, but I don't know..
You can always put them in and if you need more power add an amp.

No - they're run-of-the-mill yet better-than-stock speakers. They're OK. If you think Type R is great, then what words could you possibly use to describe like high end Rainbow or DLS or Focal speakers?

Do we really need to whip out something like "amazingly, extremely, incredibly awesome" just to describe speakers that actually are great?

haha, I guess not..

we can just use "run-of-the-mill yet better-than-stock" and great to describe speakers.

And maybe throw in a "good" somewhere..
