Default HUMount Question

I have a couple questions regarding the options that HU Mount has. This is for a 98-02 Formula.

How much better is the LED verses the Mini Lamp?

And, under the Formula lettering options, it says either "Formula" or "Formula (Script)"

Anyone know the difference between the two? Thanks.

I have the HUMoung for my Formual and I am quite happy with the Minilamps. In fact I am not sure you can get the LED for the red lighting. I might be wrong.

I had the WS6 engraved under it.

I think they mean the word Formula has the same font as on the car.

I have the Hu mount with the Led. and trust me the LED is really bright.
its goes perfect with my red lighting.. (trans am) but i love it and u can wire a dimmer onto it to fix the lighting if u like

but i do recommend the Led!!! worth the extra bucks...

Not a full out racecar. It has a full interior, AC, 1800 watt stereo, but runs tens and I got thrown out. So I put the 6 point in the car to keep them happy.

It is set up more for autocross and track days, than drag racing.

Sorry about the hijack.

So, is the lamp, just a florescent lamp with a red film to color it?

How are the lights hooked up? Just tap into a existing wire....

Shouldn't be an issue, as long as there is a resistor for the LED. Hell, that LED only draws like .1 watts.

I went with the mini lamps and the guy who sells them actually said the mini lamps match better than the LED to the TransAm lighting. I'm glad I went mini lamp. It comes with wiring instructions so that the lights are only on with the dash lights at night and can be dimmed.
Here are some pics

What are you using for your wideband and boost controller?

Its a Zeitronix wideband, the LCD display has Boost/Vac, Air fuel, lambda, and EGT. The car is supercharged so my boost controller is my right foot.

Cool, I may have to look into that. I've wanted to get a wideband for some time now. How does it measure the boost and EGTs? Do you need to run another vacuum line for the boost, and a another bung for the EGT sensor?

I'm in the same boat as you, Blown. Been thinking about going to E85 as well. Just slightly cheaper then running 110.

Yeah just go to their website and they have all the sensors that go with it. The nice thing is it has datalogging capabilities on a laptop. I currently don't have the EGT hooked up. I tried to get them to swap out the EGT spot on the LCD for a fuel pressure reading but they wouldn't, so then I ended up getting the Interceptor in the AC vent with a fuel pressure sensor. I'm currently working with both Zeitronix and EFI Live on a prototype setting in EFI Live so that the two communicate directly for ease of tuning.
