Default Mounting a new set of Sail Panel speakers

I just bought 2 audiopipe 6.5" subs to replace my blown factory subs. I had read that these were a great direct replacement. However, i found out that these speakers do not directly fit. They are too small for the screw holes.

Did those stock woofers have some sort of mounting bracket i forgot to take off (like the door speakers have)? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount these things if there is no bracket to use?

Thanks for any help

They fit. You can't put one screw in all the way and then expect the others to line up. At least this sounds like what you did which has happened in the past with the Bazooka subs. Try putting them all in loosely first then tightening them down. Another helpful thing to do is use #6 speed nuts instead of the stockers. These are available at any local autoparts store. Here's a link to a Bazooka install...it is very similar:

The Bazookas and Audiopipes are 6.5" subs though...not 6 1/4".
For the record I haven't had to enlarge the hole (yes I said enlarge the hole....lol) when installing these yet but every install is slightly different. Hope this helps you some!

Replacing those irritating stock u-nuts did the trick. Thank you very much for the tip.

Kee Audio will be getting my business as soon as i'm feeling ambitious enough to replace my door speakers .
