Yes they will work for your doors. They sound good, imo.

You can make them work but they won't work as well as components. The system is already wired for separate mid and tweeter so installing regular speakers eliminates one of the two channels going to each door from the amp... cutting your output power in half.

EDIT: of course, if you modify the speaker to separate the tweeter and woofer as two channels then they become components and will work much better.

You can just wire them to the stock woofer wires which are full-range, but you'll be missing out on a little bit of power. It won't be significant, though. Bi-amping is not as efficient as many people seem to think. It only really works well when you have a speaker with multiple woofers that are driven separately. Wiring to the woofer wires will use the capacitor that comes with the speakers, which is not a very good crossover, but it's probably better than the capacitor of a different value that the Monsoon system uses. Crossovers are more important than speakers.

You can with some coaxial speakers. When you look at the terminals on the speakers you will see small wires soldered to them. Those wires connect to the tweeter mounted in the middle of the speaker. If you cut those wires and connect them to a separate input, you essentially convert the coax into components. There's not much room to work there so some coax speakers are easier to convert than others. The result will not be as good as true components but the modification can be useful in situations like the door speakers in Camaro Monsoon systems.

So the alpine spr-17c already has seperate terminals for the tweeter and midwoofer. So it basically makes this a coaxial mounted component?

No, it's still a coaxial speaker... it only uses one pair of input wires and the woofer terminals are connected to the tweeter terminals. However, it is one of the easier speakers to modify since the tweeter wires are so accessible.

Okay guys I finish the install on the speakers and they sound good this what I installed over the last two days. I first installed the HU.. Then moved on to the 4" in the hatch, from there I went to the doors. I didn't do the mod to get components from the speakers I just wired them to mid woofer and they sound way better than the stock.. Feel free to ask Questions... Enjoy..

.

I didn't want to mess up the speaker and be **** outta luck... LOL... That's why I didn't do the mod..
