where to mount a 5 channel amp
i just got my kicker 5 channel amp and im wondering where to mount it. i want it to be hidden but would still like to show it off every once in a while. so i thought about putting it on the front wall of the trunk but the t tops hit it. so im thinkin about mounting it to the panel that seperates the trunk from the car so if i want to show it off i just flip the cover over and you can see it. has anyone done this before, and it should be strong enough right. i was just thinking about getting some bolts to fit the mounting holes in the amp and drilling the panel and doing it that way. what do you guys think and if anyone has already done this can i see some pics of how its mounted.
thanks alot

i just finished the wiring today ( just waiting for my 4 channel rca to come in) so i just need to mount it now. i was looking at the back panel that flips and i dont think i wanna do that now cause its not very strong and then my amp will be bouncing around. so i made a piece to fit on the back wall and then my t tops wouldnt fit. so i think im gonna make a setup like yours on top, but i still wanna make it look like theres nothing there. Is the part up against the seat angled or is it straight up and down? how are your amps keeping cool? and also can tell me the height of your amp box, i measured about 4 inches?
oh and where did you get your fabric from?
thanks alot i appreciate it

yea i was thinkin the same thing but then i still have to worry about the amp being mounted upside down. and after thinkin about it it will be hard to make it look really clean cause all the wires will have to have extra slack to flip over. its gonna be a little hard to hide 4 ga. power and ground, 3 rca cables, and 5 speaker wires. but i still think it would be pretty cool

i had my amp down on the floor where the t-tops mount and hated it there. i just had a great shop mount it inside where my spare tire was. looks great and is solid so it wont move under hard driving, and its HIDDEN.

^ sorry to sound kinda picky lol but my car is a daily driver so i would rather keep my spare. but very good idea and very stealthy, just make sure its secured good (im sure you already have that under control lol)

so i got my idea pretty much built and im waiting to cut it out but im not sure what to do with covering it. i need something that is easier to fit around tight curve. how do you guys think black vinyl will look sorry the pic isnt in my car ill take another one tomorrow.

Looks pretty good. If you can wrap it in vinyl, it will show the lettering much easier. With carpeting, you'll need to glue (or what ever adhesive you use) very closely to the lettering so that it shows well.

And plan on installing at least one fan, and two openings in the amp enclosure(1 close to the fan, and 1 on the other end of the enclosure).
As far as fans I'm still using the same Stinger fans I bought 8yrs ago.

what do you guys think, i like the way it came out but even the vinyl was a pain to wrap but the black actually matches the interior pretty good. and the best part the t tops still fit, and the amp box is kinda stealthy.
