What sub/amp combo you use?
What sub/amp combo you use? I just put in the kee audio speakers with a Alpine head unit. Sounds much better then stock. I want to put in a 10'' and amp. What do you guys use and how do you like it?
Buddy of mine runs Alpine Type r subs with US amps,they sound really good. The MB Quart Discus amps seem to be a popular choice as are the Image Dynamics subs.

I have a Cadence ZRS-8000 2000w RMS monoblock mated to two Cadence ZRS 12" 1000w RMS subs in a custom fit box that replaced the rear seat. Can be anything from simply loud to don't-do-this-unless-a-few-feet-away. Of course, I sacrificed the back seat to do it, but you could easily use one of those 2x12 enclosures manufactured for the hatch. Honestly, this setup is not for casual listening, and I did it more to build it into a show car, but wasn't quite sure what your overall goal was.
I'm lookin to hit 145 plus. Not sure if I can do that with one sub. I used to have a Autoteck ms 5000 amp and 2 12'' Autoteck subs. I would hit 149 to 150 every show I went to.
I have two 10" Memphis M3 subs in a custom built HDF box hooked up to a Memphis amp (not sure what model but I think it's 1300 watts). Running that off an Alpine head unit...sounds amazing. Not to brag but I've never heard a set of 10's that sound as clear or hit as hard as mine.

What did you have to hit 150 before? What subs and box? Any port specs? 150 is VERY high for a street system. Especially 2 12s. I would really like to see.

Verdad Gallardo I had the Autoteck ms 5000 amp with 2- 12 Autoteck subs. In a slot port box. Don't remember the specs on the box. The place that built the box used a computer program to build it. They closed there doors about 2 years ago. I did have them wall off the back of my Grand prix that the stereo was in.
I'm running a Kicker 750.1 amp and one 12" CVX. (basically a round L7). I love it. Clean loooowww bass.
If you're looking for some serious bumps from a 10" I'd look into RE audio. They make some mean stuff.

RE Audio subs sound great, but my friend has had two of them and both of them have blown after a few years of use.

I have ran 2 - Rockford Fosgate HE2's (they were the first Punch DVC in their line up back then) for 9 years and they still sound great. Powered them with a Rockford amp at 200W a piece for the first 5 years, and then got a great deal on an Audiobahn amp to push them at 300W a piece. Now I am wanting a lot more power and need to get a new system.
What I have experienced, Rockford subs last forever if you stay 50 - 75% of the RMS power. They are not as efficient as some subs out there and are spendy for the power range you get, but they still sound great and last.
I have their 400S (old punch series) and they tend to run hot, so they need a fan on them if you want to run them hard with not a lot of air space around them. I need to get new subs to get enough power to even put the Audiobahn amp to the test (2400W RMS at 1 ohm
).
