Which would you say's better: HiFonics (BXi1610D) or JL Audio (non-slash 500/1)?

Amp-wise, the HiFonics. Support-wise, JL.

i've always wondered what a 300-400 watt subwoofer sounds like. I'm running a tiny 6 1/2 thing with 100rms and it sounds... decent. it outputs like the perfect blend of bass for my taste.

Alright i did it its final i jus chucked up $189 on a brand new HiFonics BXi 1610D 1600watt Brutus amp. You said the JL Audio would be better support wise but this amp produces 50 more watts than the JL Audio, and the JL Audio really isnt that efficient and this is supposed to be, so it won my vote. Does anyone know if the HiFonics logo illuminates on the newer BX11610D Brutus like the previous models(BXi1608D, BXi1606D, BXi1605D) do??

Really!!! that makes me feel better b/c all the reviews i've been reading there telling you to defiantly upgrade your charging system and i so cant afford that. Will prob do the "Big 3" but thats all i was really wanting to do. Has anyone really had any charging issues with a HiFonics BXi Brutus amp???

Whats the rated power for those amps? And no matter what amp you have if you're drawing too much power you'll need an upgrade either way. Big 3 will help a little but it depends how much power you ultimately plan on pushing. I'd say over 1500 and you'll be in need of an H/O alt and maybe battery, depending on what you have now. You don't want to draw so much that it kills your alternator and then you're stranded.

Yeah, just do the "Big 3", I wouldn't worry about needing a high output alt. until you get over 1300 rms total watts.
