Default Kee Audio or no? help please

I been looking at the kee audio sight and i looked at the firebird camaro package and i looks good and cheap for the speakers but it says monsoon systems recommended. So i have a 1995 Pontiac Firebird Formula 10 speaker system would my system be compatible?

Hi,
Thanks guys for the kind words!!

The 10 speaker system in your 1995 Firebird sounds like it is the early version of the Monsoon system. It is similar but has the amp on the passenger side sail panel by the seat I believe. The basic/standard package would still work well with your situation and be better then stock.
There were several different audio systems in these cars from 1993-2002 even though the interiors were essentially the same. It can be very confusing.

I'm awaiting an order of the CL-61CV. I just ran out... My shipment will be here Tuesday though so no problem. Plus I have another one coming after that.
I will also be getting you some pictures of how they look installed in your stock plastic mount with the rear showing how they are wired. It should give you a better idea of what your looking at when you install them.

The older premium 10-speaker system can't be easily upgraded to Monsoon because the wiring is completely different. The 10-speaker system had an amp that only powered the sail panel subs - everything else was powered by the head unit. Monsoon systems power all speakers through the amp except the door and hatch tweeters.

so if that's the case, will it be difficult to put in the premium package from kee audio? Do I need different wiring and or different speakers?

No problem. The speakers are set up basically the same for both the 10-speaker premium system and the Monsoon system. The difference is how they're connected - which ones are amplified and which run off the head unit. That doesn't affect the choice of speakers. Both Kee Audio's standard and premium packages will work.
