Replacing OEM Alternator Last year I was having problems with all my lights flickering and dancing. You can read more in this thread; https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...me-inside.html
So I think I have come to the conclusion that my alt. is going bad. What should I replace it with?
Right now my radio is all STOCK.. and I have a Red Top Optima..

You may want to replace the regulator & the diodes board inside the alternator...no big deal and cheaper option.
If you think it's better to replace the alt.,let me recommend to you this business ( I purchased a brand new 200 amps alternator, the owner is a great guy always available even weekends) motorcityreman.com

no man sorry i dont. its not hard at all though. just tight from up top but a little better from underneath. only 'tricky' thing is once you get the 2 bolts facing the front of the car and the 1 from the rear and unclup the harness for the exciter wire is getting it our of the bracket. i just played with it for about 5 minutes and it will wiggle out. same thing for putting it back in
