Default help me identify this

stupid question but what's the little plastic box laying by the driver's rear quarter panel? does it have anything to do with the alarm or is it strictly for the speakers? and what about that sensor that's wrapped in the foam? my radio is out and i wanted to pull all the wiring associated with it. thanks guys

The foam wrapping is around the connector for the optional CD changer. All Monsoon systems were pre-wired for the changer even if it wasn't installed.

The box doesn't look like a factory item.

Any closer pics of the box? From that pic it looks like a shock sensor but it wouldn't be on that side, it'd be on the passenger side. Also, any idea where it runs to? If you got the car apart you could trace it to the source.

Should be able to yank it. Previous owner must have put it in and I believe those connect to the speaker wires. I've never dealt with one personally so maybe someone who has can correct me if im wrong.

That's a Line Out Converter which is used to convert speaker-level audio signal into pre-amp level for input to an amplifier. The previous owner probably had a sub in a stealthbox in the cubby at the back of the car there.
