Default Monsoon sail speaker PN

I have a 98 TA in need of a monsoon sail panel speaker. Is this part number still accurate?

6" DVC sail panel subs: P/N 9365799

I got that from:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/3612589-post11.html

Thanks!

you might want to not go factory, and upgrade them, KEEAUDIO is a sponsor

The original part number has not changed. It is possible that the number may have been superseded to a newer number but that will not make the original number invalid. Supersessions are handled automatically by GM's parts ordering system.

Cool thanks. I does show up in gmpartsdirect.com just wanted to make sure it's the correct speaker.

When you blow these stock speakers, post back and we'll help you find a more durable direct-fit replacement.

Nothing appears to be direct fit. The write up shows some modification, like drilling larger or new holes, and I've read lots of issues of vibration with the more powerful aftermarket subs. I'm not interested in a thumping car. In the 99 Camaro I had I replaced both sails with factory pieces when they blew, and there were fine for several more years. I'm not cranking my stereo all the time...getting too old for that.

Me too. My original speakers didn't last a year after being delivered from the factory, with light use.

I installed the Bazookas and only had very slight modifications: https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...ll-w-pics.html

It was really easy and I can go back to the OEM speakers at any time, although I can't imagine why I would do such a thing. (I don't like making permanent modifications to the car.)
