I was talking about the actual blue connector. My connector is what melted like where the bulb actually connects.

You can get new connectors easy. Just google 9006 connector. You can find the connectors separate or attached to pigtails. If just your connector is melted, you should be able to eject the terminals and put in to a new connector body without splicing.

Put a new 50 cent socket insert in them and they are as good as new.

So, what exactly do I need for just the low beams (for now). I currently have old HIDs in my ride. I would like to swap out for the slim ballast and get rid of those shoeboxes I have in there now.

I would need:

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cd/full.aspx?Page=63

Part 36-0302 (2 of them)

and for the HIDs
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

2 of these as well?
Would I need any of these below:
HID Harness?
Error Eliminator?
Adaptor cables?

Would any of these work with the lmctruck headlights?

I havent run any harness and I have 2 hid kits on my car with no problems , some cars get flickering and stuff , I believe thats when u need the harness relay.
But its not necessary , and you can get it from your HID supplier anyway ..

Anybody have any issues with recieving the lights from ddmtuning? I ordered the lights on Dec 1st. Got email saying shipped on Dec 4th. Tracking # says they are still in China(??). I emailed and they replied on the 8th,

"We have a fulfillment center in China. Most of the lighting parts are shipped from that fulfillment center, including HID kits.
The package is currently in transit to your location. You may not see an update on this tracking number until US Customs has received, processed, and handed the package off to USPS for delivery."
I kinda figured if I ordered something and their website states their HQ is in San Diego, that is where the product should be stored at and shipped from. Correct? Not freakin China of all places.

I've got some 9006 HIDs from when I had my honda and some JLM ballast (they flickered in my honda but the one's I swapped from my sisters wrecked car didn't) can I put the bulbs straight into the V6 fog light 880 spots? and how do I get to those lights I've only had the car about 3 weeks and haven't gotten into figuring out how to get in behind the bumper.

I have a question ... So the reason the HIDs reflect so much light (glare) is because the light source is too far forward in the reflective housing ... because of the design of the HID bulb. Has anyone attempted to space the bulb back a cm or two in hopes of placing the light source in the correct position (as compared to smaller halogen bulbs) within the housing? I wanted to try this on a torrent that I had but traded it in and removed the HIDs from it before trading.

I know that the implementation of what Im talking about here is harder than it sounds but .... can be done. Anyone tried?

There is more involved than just the placement of the light source too far forward in HID capsules compared to halogen bulbs - although that is certainly part of the problem. Other factors include the orientation of the light source and its shape. Halogen bulbs have a light source that is perpendicular to the axis of the bulb and is a straight line (the filament). HID capsules have a light source that is longitudinal with the axis and is curved (the heat of the arc causes it to rise in the middle). Those factors are not as easy to compensate since simply repositioning the capsule doesn't affect them.

Capped capsules can have a significant effect on reducing light scatter and glare because the cap blocks much of the light that would be in front of the normal focal point of the halogen reflector. It's not an ideal solution but it's much easier than trying to use spacers to move the capsule back.

So basically I need
2x 37-0303
2x 37-0302
For the conversion, correct? HID kits will blind other drivers if I'm reading correctly, but say I wanted to get HIDs (I don't think I do, I ******* hate bright *** lights in my eyes).
For the HIDs, I would need
DDM HID Kit, 35W, 880, 5000K
DDM HID Kit, 35W, 9006, 5000K
Mounting Brackets?
Is this correct?

the 880's for the fogs and the 9006 for the lows and 2 of each lense (1 of each for each side) for 98+ firebird/transam. What mounting brackets are you thinking? the HID kits typically come with brackets, but some zip ties will hold them just fine.

The HID kits have an optional mounting bracket you can get for $4 with them...was wondering if I needed that. What I think I'll do is go ahead and order the regular lights first, see how I like them, and if I feel like I need more (doubt it) I'll grab the HIDs.

And I meant 36 instead of the 37 (for parts) as I posted above...glad I caught that.

I just put mine on with some double sided trim tape, but that didn't hold the weight so I zip tied it. I mounted them to the side of the "frame rail" that is directly under the high beam when the lights are lowered. just raise the headlight manually and remove the black shroud from the front of the lights and you have easy access to just about everything in there.

I'm looking at getting the lenses soon myself, I've held off because I had replaced one of the low beams the day after I got the car back in March so I don't want to replace a new light so soon. Also I'm probably gonna ditch the HID in the fogs and go LED, the HID's just have such a BAD pattern that I won't drive into traffic with them on, so they never get used.
