Matrix, how did the brackets turn out. I agree the bezel looks great but I'm a little worried about the H/U install and support.

It's ironic that I received mine today and got a piece of black plastic unevenly cut with no vinyl no mounting studs on the back and all this for 150.00. I e-mailed him and am waiting for an explanation. Here are some pics. I really hope it was an honest mistake.

I totally f@cked up. I saw this in the order box (which I sent but still had on my mind)...

1 x 6LE Bezel Black ABS

and somehow got mixed up with what you actually ordered...

1 x 1993-2002 Firebird Double Din Bezel VINYL COVERED
- Model Year (of your vehicle): 2000-2002

I know you are in a rush so if you just want a refund let me know. What I sent was our budget minded piece, it is only $60...

http://6litereaterdesigns.com/store/...roducts_id=138

The vinyl one will take a couple weeks to make and send, so I can still process the order to send the vinyl covered piece or send you a refund. Either way keep the ABS piece...

Thanks for the quick response Mark. I'll wait for the correct bezel.

I installed mine last weekend. The 6liter vinyl bezel with the Pioneer 4200. I did have to remove a little bit more material on the sides of the bezel to get it to clear the HU .... but it looks awesome

How are you guys going about installing the actual double din unit...the bezel looks good (i'm assuming it comes with the proper mounting studs on the back...) but what all is involved in getting the actual DD unit to fit into the stock opening?

either custom tabs or you can make the metra 99-3302 install kit tabs also fit with a little modification. I used the metra kit on my install https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...-dd-bezel.html

Here is my install:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...installed.html

I made my own brackets, trimmed the opening, and made my own custom bezel. Check out the thread for more pics and info.

Any idea how this head unit would look with the double din bezel? It has a little bit of a lip at the bottom - and i'm not sure if it would look stupid and out of place...
