best radar detector???

whats the best radar detector thats fairly inexpensive and will basically let me know if theres a cop anywhere near me. any model #s or links would help. thanks.

there are way to many threads asking this same thing. everyone has there opinion, and there are websites out there that actually test radar detectors.

I will say that I have had an ESCORT PASSPORT 8500 x50 for the past three years and have not had a speeding ticket. I very seldom drive the speed limit. I purchased it used off ebay for $130 three years ago. Go read reviews on it.

i have a passport 9500ix, and it has saved me from goin to jail a few times, and countless other tickets. plus its good to know when cops are around so you dont act a fool

really the only answer to the question is that if you are going to buy a radar detector, it should have 2 criteria:

1. more than $200 new
2. an Escort, V1, or Bel
