So quick question what model year? I’m having issues finding housing adaptors for my 2001.

wssix99 or other peeps --

Can you check out this youtube video and tell me if these are the same LMC housings?

https://latemodellighting.com/

They're pricey! But it looks like the included LED bulbs fit in the stock TA buckets without having to do cutting?

Anyone have an opinion on their LED bulbs with the extended wire/connector on them?

Wondering if I could order from LMC and get the bulbs somewhere for cheaper that $190 for lows and $190 for highs?

And, could the bulbs shown possibly be designed to work with the LMC halogen reflectors?

Thank you!

SOLD out on Late Model Lighting but interesting...sent them an email asking when they would be back in stock AND if their LEDS could be used w/ LMC truck's housings like most of us already have on ours birds.

Those look and work just like LMC's housings. I can't tell if they are the same or of the same quality, though.

They look similar to me. Just get the LMC housings, good LEDs (thin strip of LED in same position and shape close the original halogen bulb filament), and 9005/9006 connectors. The headlight LED bulbs they showed looked like they might be alright, but not the fog light LED; that one was the wrong shape.

This kit looks better than some others people have posted that have older/worse housings and older/worse LED. There aren't any good beam pattern pics, but looking at the wall in the video, they don't look too bad.

Thanks guys!

I kind of got the impression that company doesn't want us to know the brands they used to make their kit -- Just hand over $190 per pair!

Let us know if they email you back.

Prices seemed on the high side...

Default LMC Housing install question

All that is needed is two of the 36-0302 low beam housings and two of the 36-0303 high beam housings. The housings come with new bulbs, but I upgraded to 4200K headlight/high-beam bulbs and 4200K 880 bulbs for my fog lights to get the light bluer/whiter. LMC also sells a "heavy duty" harness, which is not needed for our cars. The wires are thicker than the GM trucks and can handle the full wattage of the bulbs.
Question: what was you original source specifying the 9005/9006 bulbs sizes? Do any other size headlight bulbs fit into the 36-0302 and 36-0303 housings?

LMC's description should include the bulb size. I think it may not tell you the size because they want to sell you their bulbs.

9011 replaces 9005
9012 replaces 9006
IF you want angled bulbs.

I Googled ALTERNATIVES FOR 9005, and it says HB3, H10, H12, 9040, 9055, 9140, 9145, 9150, and 9155 all fit this socket shape

I don't think my mechanic cut my headlight buckets to make the 9005/9006's work, but it's very hard to see. I believe there are not any bulbs that fit the stock Firebird headlight connectors. I know he stuck wire terminals in my original connectors and used electrical tape. I'm ok with that for now because I'm testing this setup for now to see how it is. I also have 880 LED's for the fog lights. Right now I'm running Sealight 9006's and standard halogen 9005's.

If possible you want something fanless.

If possible 1 to 1 exact size match as a halogen 9005/9006. They keep making these bulbs smaller and smaller, so they can be the same size as OEM 9005/9006.

I used these -- you may need to trim the backs of your headlight buckets like he did. I have to go to where my car's stored again and try to see what the mechanic did to my car...

Low beam housings 150 mm pn # 36-0302 Bulb type 9006-xs comes with pigtail and halogen bulb. Glass lens *** with diffuser.
High beam housings 150 mm pn # 36-0303 Bulb type 9005-xs comes with pigtail and halogen bulb. Glass lens no diffuser.

Let me know if you have more questions.

The main difference between is that 9006 bulbs are low beam bulbs, whereas 9005 bulbs are high beam bulbs. There's also other compatibility differences between the two that make them suitable for different scenarios and use cases.

Starting off with 9005 bulbs, they are rated for 65 watts which means they will use more power but also have slightly better light output as a result. 9006 bulbs, on the other hand, are a bit more power efficient at 55 watts so opt for these if you have less juice to spare.

Most LED equivalent 9005's and 9006's are the SAME brightness.

Are 9005 and 9006 interchangeable?

Unfortunately, despite looking very similar the 9005 and 9006 bulbs use different connectors. In comparison, the 9005 light bulb has an additional connector compared to the 9006 bulbs. Although, 9005 bulbs can be used with a 9006 connector by modifying it.

Read the full thread. Posts 28-31 will answer your questions.

As said in those posts and above, there are brighter bulbs available, but there is no such thing as a free lunch. More light = more power = more heat. Before buying, I would make sure you have a member with miles in the configuration you are interested in.

Each bulb has a different connector. Some bulbs can be substituted by trimming tabs so they will fit the 9005 and 9006 connector, or you can always replace the entire connector to match the bulb you want. (This is what I did in the first posts of this thread, but that takes some specialized tools and practice.)
