Default Help me choose my system!

Ok, I think its time for me to focus a little on the stereo in that ol' TA. Here is what I looked at. Im not all that up on car audio equipment anymore so give me your opinions. I listen to all types of music, from rap to county. Just want a very good quality sounding stereo. Here are the two combos I got, give me your opinions on them please.

System 1:
Clarion 845 Head Unit $499 (music catcher or something like that)
10" Diamon TDX $400 w/ box
Diamond D5 1200.1 $599
Parts/amp kit $55

Comes to like $1,599 installed

System 2:
Kenwood KDC-X879 $479
JL Audio E1200 200 watts x1 $200
JL Audio stealth box w/ 10" W3 $340
Then w/ parts and install comes to a total of like $1,260.

Im open to other alternatives. Will system 1 sound that much better than the second one I listed? Thanks for any help.

Nick

Do system #2. Then, use the extra cash to upgrade your front speakers and put them on an amp. Just make sure the amps and recievers have all of the functions you want. Also, listen to the different subs (in a similar vehicle). That alone may help you make up your mind.

I agree, go with system 2 and use the extra cash on some better front speakers.

I would go with system 2 I guess, I like JL products. I would go with an Alpine head unit though. I don't think you can beat there head units for the price. You can opt to buy the stuff from an online dealer and pay for the install. That would save you big time on parts.

Just my $.02 Good luck.

Correction... Best Buy and like Circuit City might not... but I know most of the stereo shops around here will. About 20 in San Berdo alone. BUT, they will not warranty the items they install if you didn't buy it from them.

Really? I bought all my gear on-line, then asked several pro shops in my area if they would build me a box. All denied me for the same reason....no worries... I'm almost done building it myself!
