Default Stock Head Unit Removal Quick Question******

I am trying to remove the stock head unit from my 2001 Formula. I took the radio surround off and removed the three screws. I try to pull out the head unit, but it only comes out about 3 inches and then it is stuck. Please help!

Check the edges of the radio to see if it's catching on anything. If not, try wiggling the radio around, the wiring harness in the back might be caught on something.

Thanks. The edges aren't caught, but it seems like the wiring harness is caught. I tried wiggling it, but it isn't working...any other ideas? :-(

Probably the wiring harness holding it up. You might have to move the HVAC controls out of the way and stick your hand back there to free it up.

Just went through a h/u upgrade. What found was that you can tilt the front of the unit down and it will pull the wiring harness over whatever is holding it.....usually.

I tried tipping it every way possible. I wouldn't worry if I were you, though, because even if it is caught, you can get it out if you have some patience.

had to reach around the back under the glovebox........what a PITA........the connector on the HU on the lower right hand side is the steering wheel controls........there is NO slack in that wire........then the antenna wire is right by that connector........another PITA.....then you can pull it out enough to reach the main connector
