Back from the dead...would doing this be a complete waste of money and getting an aftermarket alarm on the side also? i just put a deposit in for a viper alarm installation, wondering if this would work with the viper alarm also? Hopefully someone can chime in asap. Thanks.

I 'd ask the install your viper alarm Installer to see what they think.
Keep in mind that this keyless system comes in 3 different varieties.
1. Keyless Entry only with RFID card (walk up to car doors lock/unlock).
2. Push to Start Button with RFID card (doors don't lock/unlock)
3. Features combined of option 1 & 2. Also the Remote Start feature is included in this.
You can get a viper unit thats an alarm only and use rest of features from this unit or totally skip this and get viper smart start.
