I am looking for a 8" sub that can handle 400RMS and 800 max watts. I currently have a 12" Inifinity Kappa sub but am thinking of redoing my setup. I would like to keep my current amp though that is why the 8" sub I am looking for would have to handle that power. If anyone has any suggestions of subs for me to look at I would appreciate it. I would like the sub to cost around $250 max and if I find one I like you will probably see my sub and custom built box for sale in the classified section. I am in no hurry right now so this will probably be a slow procedure. This is what my current setup looks like.

All 8 inch subs so it will you give you watt rating and info on the sub. Probably find the sub somewhere cheaper though.
Good luck with your hunt!

The stealth box will not work with the top pump and I would rather build my own box then buy a stealth box. Don't get me wrong nothing is wrong with the stealth box but I have the tools and know how on how to build a box. Thanks for the link to Crutchfield but they only have 2 subs that can handle the 400RMS watts. The JL one is 500 bucks and I do like the looks of the Kicker L7. Thanks for the start in the search. I really would like an 8" sub but I guess I may need to look for a new less powerful amp to run an 8" sub if I can't find one to handle the amp I have currently.

DD 1508 in a ported box about 1 cube to 42htz.... i have that in mu T/A 500rms 1000 peak
it hits notes as low as 27htz and sounds better than any 2x12, 2x10, 15 or any other setup ive ever had for that matter.. nobody ever believes its just an 8" trust me.. ive already had a handful of friends switch over to it just because of how amazing it sounds.

Thanks everyone for the help so far. I am liking the looks of the DD 1508 sub. It looks like the DD 1008 sub would work for me too for the amp I own. Plus it fits my price range.

2kNAz28 and Adam1982, thank you both for the link and info on some more good looking 8" subs. I wish the pierce audio sub had more info on it and I like the Sundown audio sub too. The good thing with the Sundown Audio sub is there is a retailer in Springfield, about 20 minutes from my house. Though I still like the shallow mount depth of the DD1508 sub. The Sundown audio sa8 v2 ins't much deeper but I am still deciding on mount location and depth may be an issue. Thanks again for making my decision harder each day.

i have good luck with pierce audio, they are good guys. if you call them or post on the forums they can also build just about any sub you want. They told me there 10" would work in a .75 box and would be good for 800rms. now don't get me wrong i run other stuff too. i just have had good luck with the pap 12, and they gladly help you with designing your box.

I've talked to Ryan personally. Good guy and always has been to me. Answered all questions I had and I called multiple times before I purchased anything. Straight up with me whether it was B stock or new I was asking about. Even my brother who is more into car audio than me liked talking to him and purchased from him. Great guy in my opinion and will never talk bad about him.

Thanks again everyone. I am starting to get choices narrowed down. My sub choice is now depending on if I will be building a sealed or ported box. I will do ported if the space I am trying to squeeze the sub into will be enough room to make a ported box. Guess I have some measuring to do to figure out my dimensions and volume I can get out of the box. Thanks again for leading me in good directions and making my choice difficult.

Look at post #9 scj has a 1508 ported in his hatch. i know personally from testing out that a sub box that fits a hatch will fit the vert. the hole it goes in is the same specs.
