If the Corvette is wired like the Camaro & Firebird, you do still need that mini-amp. The car's amp is expecting speaker-level inputs and not line-level. The output from the headphone jack on the tablet won't be enough.
What is the output of that mini-amp anyway?

Couple of tips just to put it out there,
1. Poweramp for the music player, the interface and sound are awesome, try the 2 week trial and if you agree the full version is 5 bucks
2. If your not aware, they now have OBD II bluetooth dongles that attach to the OBD II port and can be bluetooth linked to phones or tablets and there is an App called "Torque" again full version is 5 bucks but has free limited trial, it not only works as a code reader but will also give you a "virtual dash" and the pro version will do 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 mile times and things like that, check it out.

I have way to many questions about this, but heres a few.
my main one is the sound quality.. this would probably run the same amount as a regular DD headunit
how are all of the controls working? like bass settings, volume ect.
do you still have function of the CD player?
can you run subs from it?
i should be getting into a c6 soon and this seems very interesting.

You need to hear it first. Sound quality over A2DP is not as high as wired. You kind of wish it would be but experience has shown otherwise. We even did an analysis at work comparing the signal output to the BT transceiver, and then the reassembled signal on the receiver, and you can see the signal deterioration. When other signals interfere, it just gets worse. That's not say that it is AM quality, but it is definitely not CD quality.

Are you planning on integrating the steering wheel controls?
Did you think of a way to keep receiving radio? That's what I am stuck on.
Lastly, how strong a GPS signal are you getting? Some folks have added a BT GPS unit.

I know there are apps that will allow internet radio, but that requires tethering to my smartphone. Ideally, if the Nexus had an ability to be charged AND act as a USB host (in other words, either a unique charging port (e.g. DC 6v) or an additional USB port for peripherals) I could add on a bunch of other peripherals including an AM/FM/HD unit and plug in some SWI controls.

I dont have steering wheel controls on my vette. As far as gps signal, it is great, works well with all of the gps apps I use..
I am tethering from my phone with 4G, and youtube, winamp shoutcast all load up quickly. This thing is pretty cool the possibilities are endless.. I am looking for some more cool games to load up lol..
The screen on this nexus 7 looks clear, and modern with the glass... Looks and fits like it belongs to a vette.
