If it did, you could possibly run a different (lower voltage) kernel and have it run a little cooler, although that wouldn't really keep the tablet from getting hot while its not running

ive never gotten an overheating warning on anything running android, and i've had previous phones pretty damn hot from overclocking the processor... I don't think it'd be a problem, but I may be wrong.

granted I am here in florida, but yeah i have opened my car and had issues with tablets and phones running ios/android/windows phone give me temp warning from sitting in the hot car

Im controlling the volume through the touchscreen. Basically I have a volume app installed that always sits on top. You can always hook up a manual **** to control the volume like this one: http://www.amazon.com/PAC-Remote-Amp...volume+control
What volume app is that you found? I found an App called "Auto Screen On" that will let you wave your hand in front of the proximity sensor to wake the screen, as a way to get around needing to use the physical buttons.
