The HD in "HD Radio" does not stand for High Definition like it does in television. In fact, other than the lack of background noise due to the digital signal, HD radio is decidedly lower quality than even the average MP3 player. Since all US FM stations broadcast HD radio on the same frequency band as their analog signal, the available bandwidth is limited to a maximum of about 150Kbps and is normally 100-125Kbps. Certainly HD radio sounds somewhat better than analog FM - especially due to the lack of background noise - but it is nowhere near CD quality (1400Kbps) or even MP3 quality (usually 192K bps or higher).

Installed today, one note that varied from the OEM's install directions, it said connect power to ground and dash illumination wires, but the illumination wire did not power the LED, so I tapped into the ignition wire on the radio harness and it works perfectly - key-on lights up, key-off and the LED's stay on until I open the door or it times out ~10 minutes, same as the radio.
I could not be happier! This is a classy finishing touch to any interior in my opinion.
Another note, in post #15, there is red light bleeding from above the head unit. The OEM is now sending aluminum tape to install above the LED bar that traps the light where it belongs. You can see there is no blue light bleeding from above my set-up.
