Default Good sound deadener?

Hey,
I need some advice on a good sound deadener (ie: dynamat) that can stand up to the AZ summer heat. I used a knockoff brand some years back and as soon as summer hit, the tar backing started running.

I want something that won't run/will hold up to the heat, but I'd like to avoid paying the markup for 'dynamat' (the name is a huge part of the cost). Anyone have some good suggestions?

Chris

I used NVX mats when I did my system install. I can't attest to their heat resistance, but the noise reduction is great for a single layer sheet. And they're a bit cheaper than Dynamat. Try looking up reviews for them and see if anyone mentions the heat issue.

believe it or not, Qikroof works AWESOME as sound deadener, is cheap, and will NOT run or stink when it gets hot (roofs routinely get to 130-140 degrees, it's engineered for that)

using raammat bxt and ensolite ps here. have them for almost a year so far and they stuck it out thru the summer just fine, even on the vertical and upside-down surfaces. its also priced better than most stuff out there, I personally wouldn't use roofing material. those tar-based mats don't work as well as butyl-based deadeners

I'm not going tar-based again, no way!

The stuff I used before was tar-based and as I said, first good 110 summer day there was tar-juice running all over the place (came oozing out from under the carpet/behind panel). God it was a mess!

Roadkill is butyl. Works perfect. Half the price of others.

IMO, Second Skin is really good! I have double layers of their
Damplifier under the headliner of my hard top(doors and floor also) that's survived probably a good +5 yrs now of California summers, and it's hasn't budged an inch.

I've also used the Second Skin Overkill Pro down around the shifter base on my T56 with good noise reduction results, but their Luxury Liner Pro would give even better results.

Really? It wasn't tar backed? Do you remember what it was called?

Duct insolation, its foil/spounge, with glue to stick on. just like dynamat $10 a roll 2ft/20,or 1ft/10. Works great!
