Subs randomly cut in and out

Last summer a friend helped me install two 10" subs in a custom box for the ttop well, with a 2500W amp. Lately they have had an issue where they will cut out while driving and randomly come back in. Would that be a sketchy ground wire causing that? Ive noticed if I leave the subs in the car and dont drive regularly it will kill the battery too sice the install, any ideas? Thanks for any help

You sure it is your sub and not your amp? When mine did that, it was a faulty fuse holder. I replaced that and all was fine - I had my power wire ground to my headers before that which caused damage to the fuse holder itself and a few fuses blown because of it.

No thats certainly a possibility. I dont think Ive blown any fuses, is there a way to test/check the fuse holder?

If it's draining the batter while parked it sounds like you have it directly wired & the amp is never shutting off.

Sounds like he hotwired the remote turn on terminal straight over to the battery terminal. Might be loose but also as said lets the amp stay on with the car off.
