Door speakers replacement (monsoon)

Door speakers replacement (monsoon)
I am having a terrible time trying to find something that mounts and wires the same as the stock Monsoon 6.5 and tweeter.
They are mounted co-axially and appear to be a 2-way speaker, but are actually wired as separate components
Some places on the interwebs refer to this arrangement as a 'braxial' speaker system. Another way I have seen this described is as a 'convertible component' speaker system.
Any brand or specific model recommendations? Where/how should I shop/search for this?

I have read the FAQ and sticky a few times... no mention of speaker replacement options outside of what the sponsors have packaged. And frankly, the sponsors are asking way too much for some no-name brand.

Wow! That makes it seem like any 2-way 6.5 could be modified the same way as long as you had easy access to the tweeter leads....
I wonder if its really that simple, or if it has to be a specific brand.

Check out Kee Audio, I bought his Premium Package a couple of years ago or you can just buy the door speakers.

You should do a little more research in to these brands you aren't aware of. Speakers are one product where you can find higher quality from smaller local companies. Many of the brand names you are familiar sell cheap paper speakers made in Chinese labor camps, etc. where many of the companies that don't heavily market to you make a higher quality product made in the USA or the west.
There are lots of threads on this site talking about the quality/build of the speakers that the sponsors are putting in their packages.

One more vote for Kee Audio. I've had my car since it was new and lost both sail panel speakers in my TA. Replaced the entire setup with a high end option from Kee and it's great. There are numerous other options and some certainly more expensive. I needed something so I could hear over my loud exhaust and sound decent without costing a small fortune.

Yeah i am in the process of building a quality sound system.
I am looking at the Kee audio packages. I have never heard of these brands.
I think i might go with alpine..
Is it a necessity to go with the subs ? i was going to just do 2 front door speakers with tweeters (componet system) and two rear door speakers... or do i need to replace the subs and the rear hatch ? i wont be using an amp right away to power the system . but i will have a alpine head unit.

The sail panel speakers put out most of the bass. Mine went out and like a dumb *** I replaced them with some two way speakers and it sounded like crap. Then I came here and read up on it and replaced them with some mid range subs and all is good again.

You won't find a lot of mass-marketed brands that have equipment that is a direct-fit for an F-Body or compatible with he existing components. So, if you go with one of those brands, you may have to do some innovative fabrication (like the OP did here) or replace the entire system all in one step.
Likewise, you will likely find many unfamiliar brands with higher quality than mass-produced/imported equipment.

If you don't plan to add an aftermarket amp, why don't you keep the existing Monsoon amp? It's not particularly powerful but it's certainly more power than head unit alone. And keeping the amp makes the wiring a simple matter of an adapter harness for your head unit.

It's fine to be ignorant about speaker companies and who makes high end gear beyond what Best Buys and Walmart have, but do a little research before you decide to post BS like that, criticizing guys like me who have been on here for 9 years helping people with car audio stuff.
