Na, after 2 hours of messing with that thing and trying to program it manually, I said fk it. Maybe I'll tackle it again in a month when my school quarter ends. Hopefully I'll have more patience then

Good thing I'm taking online classes, all the time in the world lol. Good luck with it though nonetheless.

I'm wanting to install an aftermarket stereo in my trans am as well. Whitebird00 said that most harness don't carry the steering wheel control wire, does anyone know which harness does have that wire and have a link? Also why did the op purchase the Metra 99-3300 when he already had a kit from ebay. I'd like to get all the right parts the first time and not have to hack up the factory harness at all to get the steering control wire.

The steering wheel control wire is not part of the harness because it does not plug into the head unit, like the old monsoon HU. You will need to cut it and attach it to an adapter which then connects to the HU.

It is not necessary to cut the dark blue wire - you can tap into it with a ScotchLock type of connector so that you can put it back to stock if you ever want to.
