Default moonsoon noob

Noob here, I found some speakers I would like to buy because the price is right and I have bought from the seller before.

Will these work on my 98 monsoon system? They came out of a monsoon camaro but I expected them to have 4 plugs/spots for wire to go to.

Yes, they *can* be made to work but are not what I would consider an optimal replacement. You need to be asking about the differences between a conventional two way speaker and a convertible component set.

Ever think about finding some used factory ones from a part out car? If they arent blown they sound pretty good. My system is still all factory and sounds pretty good IMO. Especially for a stock 10 year old stereo.

Its really not that hard. Just make sure you have the appropriate speakers in-hand before you go to the trouble of taking the doors apart. You may also want to read up on the use of external crossovers. Just do your reading first, buy the appropriate parts, and go forth... its not as big of a deal as you are making it out to be. While you have to doors apart, consider adding a few sheets of dynamat or raamat or something like that.

If you want a simple recommendation on what to do:

1) buy some speakers: http://www.keeaudio.com/id47.html

2) take the doors apart: http://www.firebirdnation.com/pdf/doorpanel.pdf

3) do not use the included external crosssover modules. Attach the appropriate wires, and install the speakers into the plastic cradle bracket.

4) Re-assemble

5) Enjoy.

...not so daunting, is it?

I am going to do just that.

I thought it would be smile like buy some speakers at best buy, throw them in, go back to putting in tubular parts.

You might want to consider the suggested replacement speakers depending on how much it would cost you to get factory replacements. I've seen some people selling individual Camaro Monsoon door speakers for as much as $160 each on eBay. That would make the CDT speakers from Kee Audio a bargain at $150 per pair. Plus you get much better sound quality and speakers that will last much longer.
