Default Sound deadener ordered!

I just placed an order for a sound dampener package. I'm not sure if the company is a sponsor or not, so I won't say the name. I have high hopes for this, but I've never installed this stuff before. Anyone have any tips as to where to start for the best results with a possibly limited amount of product? I'm thinking the rear bulkhead, in the spare tire compartment, the sail panels and as much of the floor as I can. I've noticed the largest amount of noise comes from the rear tires and exhaust.

What say YOU?!

doors and rear, then floor.

also you can say the name of the product you just can't link to NON-sponsor websites.

i used raamaudio, their bxt heavy stuff and their ensolite foam. if you're doing something like that, i would recommend going easy on the heavy stuff like bxt but use as much as the foam like ensolite. you don't want to line everything with bxt, only large areas that will resonate or behind speakers so only one piece on the floor flats, do some behind every speaker for better audio, and i found the largest resonant area was the big flat behind the rear seat above the fuel tank so use bxt type stuff there.

I did this a while back:

Easy, but a lot of work. Also, if you plan on upgrading/changing speakers or wiring a sub, do it NOW. I had to tear apart my interior twice in a month because I wasn't sure about getting a sub...

+1 and wear gloves because the aluminum foil cuts your finger, but you wont notice until you are done for the day.

Great tips, thanks. It is RAAMMAT and ensolite foam. I know this stuff adds weight, but I'm more concerned with the quality of the ride comfort and sound than a few extra lbs in the car. I never track it anyway. I thought the area above the gas tank was going to be one of the best places for improvement. I'll eventually order another batch and do the front and doors (whatever I don't get to now) and finish it up. I've had the interior out several times, so at least I'm comfortable with that part. I'll post pics when I'm in the process of this like others have done. You never know what you might capture that can help someone else.

Thanks, but I've got a plan to start in the back of the car and work my way forward as the most noticeable (to me) areas are coming from the rear tires and exhaust. The doors will most likely be MUCH more obvious after I finish the hatch and rear wheel wells. I ordered the 37.5 sq. ft. package with 3 yards of ensolite. Will this be enough to get the inner quarter panels, storage area and above the gas tank/behind the back seat? I'm going for 100% coverage or as close as I can get to it.

Well today was a sweat filled day with great results. I completed the rear section of the car to include the t-top storage area, the spare tire area, inside the rear quarters, rear bulkhead, the b pillars and the "hump". I took it for a quick test drive on the highway and I have to say I'm pleased. The very noticeable tire noise is now extremely subtle and the stereo sounds much clearer at speed an I don't need to turn it up so loud once I get up to highway speeds. The PS Ensolite is a great product to work with it. It's flexible like cloth and stretches enough to form around contours. Good day's work and I'm anxious to finish the floor boards of the passenger compartment and doors.
