Default AutoMeter Gauge Lighting

I am in the process of installing an AutoMeter gauge and would like any information on where to tap for the lighting. From my research I have found, "for gauge lighting you can use the stock lighting power, B9 gray". This is off of the IPC harness.

Removed the panels under the dash and the IPC harness is wrapped up high. Before I begin slicing the tape to gain access to the harness better, is there any simpler way to tap for the guage lighting?

You have two options for lighting of your gauges. One is simple on/off power that is used for the parking/running lights such as side marker lights. The other is variable voltage power that is used for most of the dash lights - the brightness is controlled by the dimmer dial at the headlight switch.

Both types of power feed are most conveniently available at the back of the headlight switch and at the back of the radio. The brown wire is on/off and the grey wire is variable with the dimmer.

To confirm, I tapped Pin F Gray wire from the headlight switch. The gauge lights up with the dash lights and dims while scrolling the dimmer switch.

Pretty simple!
