Default power and ground drivers side pwr window

Removing most of the wiring from the car and going with a custom race harness.

wiring is still installed in the door. Do I need to just hook up a power wire and ground after the window switch to have it work?

There is more involved than just power and ground although you could provide just those if you only need the driver's window to work and you don't mind eliminating the express down feature. But if you need both windows to work from the driver's switch then you have to maintain the connection between the driver's door switch and the passenger door through the cross-car harness under the dash.

No, just need the drivers window to work. No express down needed.

In that case, you only need to substitute your own power and ground to the brown and black wires (respectively) at the switch. You would modify the in-door wiring so that the grey wire from the switch goes directly to the window motor in place of the brown wire that currently comes from the express down module. The dark blue wire currently goes out to the express down module and back to the motor so it could be modified to go directly from the switch to the motor. The light blue and tan wires from the switch can be eliminated because they only go to the passenger's door.
