C6 had them near each door sill for the doors. I'd think something inconspicuous could be rigged up with a bike cable and placed in the sail panel or somewhere near the parcel shelf behind the rear seatback.

OK, so here you go...I used SEM SEM 15013 Landau Black Color Coat aerosol spray. It was really easy to do...just held the can a good 18"-24" back and did several (like, 10-12) very light coats to give it the texture. I had sanded this bezel down smooth before applying it to ensure it'd be even. all the texture is truly from the paint - no additional "texture" material or coating was added. Just the sanded bezel and paint. I didn't even sand it that well, just knocked it down quickly with some 220 grit. Honestly, it was very easy to do. I am far from a pro with stuff like this.

Also, I didn't spray the vents, so you can see how close the color is. I would say the color is VERY close - just a little darker than the factory color. In bright direct sunlight (I am a 'vert), a little variation can be seen. Also, the texture is a little more rough than the console lid, but there's really no getting around that. I honestly think it's as close as it's going to get to a perfect match without being a pro.

I took a few pics, some with flash, some without just to try and give a good idea on how it looks.

This is the camera I am using. I made a quick adapter out of a piece of thin junk plastic I had laying around - basically cut a slot of the camera to fit into, drilled holes for the mounting screws. I used the mounting points/screw for the standard bulb assembly. I purchased it off Amazon, it's a camera for an Audi. Description is "CAR REAR VIEW CAMERA FOR AUDI A3 S3 A4 S4 A6 A6L S6 A8 S8 RS4 RS6 Q7".

Works well, and really blends in nicely. The pics may seem like it stands out, but in person you don't even notice it - it's much more discrete and OE looking than the one that came with the HU.

It is mounted darn low on my lowered car, so I don't get the huge field of vision like I would in my '14 Sierra, but it's handy (especially in the 'vert with the top up) to see how close I am to a curb and whatnot. Even had a built in LED, but I don't care for the light pattern so I will be fitting an LED strip up there sometime.

I forget how easy us T/A owners have it for stereo installs, lol. That came out damn close to OEM! I really dig it and will be doing mine since it's an easy project. Thanks for the pics and info on it.

I definitely like that option. Firs thing I thought, where's the license plate light, ha. Happen to have any pictures from the screen of what you can see? Unfortunately for me, I won't be able to use it since I have the the LED board, but I can possibly modify it to use. Worse case it gives me an idea to find something similar and use the the factory plate light screws... Off to amazon/ebay I go! I ran all the required wires for a camera when I put in the amp/sub, I need to get on the ball and find something.

I can definitely snag a pic of the screen in reverse when I head out on lunch today. I took those this morning at work in the parking lot (at the GM tech center, nonetheless)

Please do, I can't decide if I want one with a camera straight out back or one angled down. Both are good options, but curious to see the difference.

Thanks for that! Now I know an angled camera ia the best bet although both look good and have a good view.

Thanks for the paint info. I'm installing my kenwood and the bezel and everything this weekend. If the paint doesn't match my 01's black, I'll know right where to go.

I have this same unit, After installation everything was working perfectly. I went to connect my google account and once I pressed ok the screen started flickering. It did this three times and then booted into the Android Root Menu. Before I could select recovery the screen went black and now the unit refuses to boot. Not happy, I was estatic with how the unit worked for the price until this gremlin raised its ugly head. Ill keep poking and prodding at her until I get it figured out.

EDIT: NVM, Tracked down the Issue

As a side note, can someone post a vid of their launcher in action? There are a couple of issues I dont like with the stock one. As far as I can find their is no way to get rid of the little widget below the clock. I would like to place my weather widget in that location.

Glad to hear you figured it out. What was the deal and how did you fix it, just in case anyone else has similar problem?

My personal preference is Action Launcher on phone and car. Nova is my 2nd favorite and more widely known. There's a little setup with any launcher but give one a try and see how you like it. It's all personal preference really.

I got the Action Launcher up and Running, I like it so far. Running a few different apps on it. My reset button had a tiny piece of dirt/rock/dust stuck in it. I went to depress it with a paper clip and heard a small crunch and it booted just fine. I took some Computer Duster and blew out the interior of the unit. It works perfectly now. I have a back up camera on the way. Ill post pics sometime in the next couple of days. Liking the action launcher so far. Its not overly complicated.

I use PowerAmp and widget works for that. My BAFX Bluetooth OBD2 works for my phone and car and I also have a Y adapter for it as well for my gauge pod. Anyone using the OBD2, I'd recommend getting a flat extension cord for it.... As I realized with my Y adapter, it allows me to move it so it hides it.

I know you've probably done this, but did you go in options of Torque and set up the BT part so it connects? I've forgotten to do it before and dumbfounds me for a bit wondering why it won't work.

I forgot I have 32gb of music videos I've had since Firehawk days and put them on my microSD so now I can have music videos playing when driving... Kinda cool, tho they're all old school now

I thought I had set up the Bluetooth for it in the head unit options itself, I got it to connect once. Went and did some other things around the garage came back to play with it and get it set up how I want it and it wouldn't connect. Haven't been able to get it to connect since. Ill get it figured out, Im so dang busy I havent had much time to work with it. I want to get a Y adapter as well.

I feel ya. I kind of hate that part about Torque app, it's not user friendly to setup. May try Dash Commander out as well. I prefer Torque, but least it'll give you another option.

Here's a picture of an old school rap song. Quality isn't too bad considering it's a decade old video. I wish I knew where I could find some new ones to download in bulk.
