Exclamation only rear trunk speakers work

hello,

my stereo is an all stock monsoon system and for some reason, one day all the speakers stopped working except for the 2 rear trunk speakers. does anybody know what went wrong here? i removed the stock CD changer... not sure if that caused it? thanks.

Does your car have tweeters? and are they working? I believe the tweeters and rear speakers are powered directly from the head unit while the 6.5" speakers are powered from the amp on the right side near the spare tire. Maybe try reseating the power connector to the AMP.

Actually, in a Camaro all speakers are powered by the Monsoon amp. Only Firebirds have the front and rear tweeters powered directly from the head unit.

yes, no tweeters since it is a camaro. front door speakers and the rear passenger speakers don't work, only the 2 rear trunk speakers currently work.

Have you checked fuses? I'm not sure if the amp is on the same circuit as the radio, but it's possible a fuse popped.

If you have a multimeter, check for power at the amp. Then check for signal from the head unit to the amp, then check for output at the amp. Then check for signal at the speakers.

That should cover most/all of your bases as to why this would happen.

If your rears are working, then your sail panels should be as well in theory since they are both on the rear channel. If they don't work, then it almost sounds like the output on the amp. My suggestion would be to locate the wiring schematic for the amp and find the speaker output terminals and hook up an old speaker to them and see if you get audio.

I'm sure there's a better way, but that's what I would do.

The Monsoon amp connector pin-out list is in the Monsoon FAQ sticky at the top of this section. You should test the four input channels first to ensure you are getting signal from the head unit then test the eight output channels to determine if the amp is the problem.
