Looking into a very good car alarm and wanting some opinions of any you all have or do use. Car was broken into last night and I'm livid! Thanks KS for any help/ advice guys/girls!

Sorry to hear that OP, I know the feeling.
DEI owns some of the big brands like Viper and Python. I've used a few Viper systems, they're pretty good. They have a couple different remotes you can get, plus some sync up with your smart phone. They also have a bunch of addons like tilt sensors, battery back-ups, etc.

I'll look into the actual DEI company as I've already checked into the Viper stuff. See what else they have. I'm probably gonna get a viper kit with a fee add on for glass breakage and such. That's where I'm at now. Anyone know the average cost of getting a good kit installed. I've researched and seen $200-$800 to be installed

DEI is the most common brand. Another great brand is Compustar as well as Code Alarm.
I wouldn't pay more than $250 for an alarm in our cars. It's difficult to run wires through the firewall to the engine bay (for the siren and a hood pin) so you'll probably see a bump in cost from that, as well as the work required to integrate with our power door locks.
If you want to throw a remote start in there, Add probably another 3-400 in parts and labor.
I sell and install DEI products, so if you have any questions (or feel like a tech is trying to b.s. you) shoot me a PM.

Have had my viper for ~6 years and it's one of my favorite mods. Strictly for the long range/2-way receiver. There have been countless times I wont be able to remember if I locked my car or not, so having the display on my keys is nice to see if the alarm is armed or not.
Remote start is not only helpful on cold days, but can also scare unsuspecting people as they walk by your car lol

As the weather has become cooler, the Avital Remote Start alarm system has made my life a lot easier. After all, this remote start device is so simple to use that it allows me to start my car without having to leave the house. I no longer have to get into my car and drive in sub-zero weather.
