I'm really not good at wiring speakers. Help please!
Hey everyone.
I'm having one hell of a time figuring out how to wire up some new speakers I bought.
I'm starting with the sail panels since they're the easiest to get to. The stock speaker has 2 pairs of black and red wires, going to each side of the speaker, but the one I bought only has one connection point with 2 wires. the stock harness also has a clip with 4 wires (tan, yellowish white, green, and light blue). The site said it was a direct replacement for the sail panel speaker, so I'm a bit confused how to wire this damn thing up. Do i just have the wrong speaker? Am I supposed to have one that has 2 connection points for 4 wires?
I can provide pictures if needed. I tried reading the FAQ but it didn't really help.
Thank you in advance!

It has to be a Firebird Monsoon because otherwise there wouldn't be two pairs of wires in the sail panels.
The Firebird has dual voice coil (DVC) subs in the sail panels. This means that the speaker has two electromagnet wire coils which drive the speaker cone in and out. Most speakers are single voice coil (SVC), including the Camaro version of the sail panel subs. In a Firebird, the Monsoon amp dedicates two channels for each of the sail panel subs thus providing twice as much power for bass.
You could use the speakers you bought (double check that they are 4-ohm because the Firebird amp can't use 2-ohm subs) by just connecting one pair of wires and leaving the other pair disconnected. But doing that gives up half of your available power where you need it most - bass. Or you could buy the proper 6.5" DVC subs (4-ohm + 4-ohm) to get all of the available power. Bazooka makes a good set of DVC subs that fit and only cost about $100 for the pair. They've been very popular here.
You might also want to read the Monsoon FAQ sticky before buying any additional upgrades. There's lots of information in there about the unique Monsoon setup.

Totally forgot to update this, sorry! I accidentally got regular speakers for the sail panels, instead of dvc subs. Told ya I wasn't good with electronics lol. I had to order subs from keep audio. Problem solved!
