Key fob and interior lights not working
I've got a 98 Z28 (convertible, in case it matters). I just got over being sick for a couple of weeks and when I went to get in my car, the locks would not respond to the key fob. I tried changing the batteries and reprogramming. Still doesn't work. I think there may be some kind of wiring issue because all of the interior lights also don't work. The dash, including the stereo/defogger controls light up like normal. The convertible top switch works. The trunk release works. Basically, everything in front of the driver works. So does the power seat. The lamps on the mirror also work. But the door lights on both sides, as well as the rear interior lights don't work. Neither does the power lock button on the door. I haven't checked the window switches because one needs the "fix it thingy" and the other is ready to fall into the door if I operate it.
(so much to do on my poor car all at once...)I pulled all the fuses and they are good.
I do have a multi-meter, but I'm not that good at electrical stuff, so this is where I ask for help.
Also try turning your dash dimmer wheel all the way up until it clicks - that will manually trigger the courtesy lights so you can tell if there's a problem with the door switches.
look up BCM diagnostic, it will flash a code and you can see if the bcm is reporting an issue

If I want to get a tool to diagnose, is the Tech2 still good to have, or should I be looking for something newer?
