Is there a way to disable/remove the ignition lock button?

Finally got around to making a nice custom flip key for my WS6 and it came out great, however the little button you have to press to turn the ignition off completely and remove the key gets in the way and forces me to push the key in firmly to actuate. I'd like to just remove this button from the ignition cylinder piece entirely, since I've never really felt it to be necessary to need a safety button to rotate the key all the way off. What button to turn off the ignition? I don't have that on my 2001 Formula. My father's 1982 Chevy Van had that little lever/button to remove the key.

BTW, I have that exact same flip key on my Formula.

I think your key blade is cut shorter than mine since mine sticks out a bit.
