Default Has anyone modified their batteries cables in order to use the top posts?

Perhaps it's just me, but I don't like the fact that our cars use the sides posts. Has anyone modified their cables in orde to use the top posts?
If so, do share!>

Thanks!

I haven’t but it’s a car and you can do whatever you want. Top post, side post makes no difference.

as an example;
I had 4 batteries in my 92 jeep powering a 4000watt amp attached to a 15” cerwin Vega subwoofer. 1 battery under the hood, 3 in the back. They were all different brands and different types (deep cell, AGM, lead acid) that I took out of some towed cars. Made custom 0ga wires with copper lugs to each battery. It was awesome. I was told that I was a fool, the deep cell would discharge the lead acid and the AGM would blow up. I ignored everyone and built what I wanted; rocked that system for 5 years before it got wrecked by a bank robber.

there is no limit to what u can do.

Is this an access related or aesthetics related reason you are wanting to change?

I know the side post terminal bolts are pita to open,close and jump battery because of how short they are . If it’s a acces related reason , there’s a brand named better battery boltfrom eBay and IG.

It’s definitely made life easier to put on trickle charger.

MIL spec terminals on the top posts for body power, amp power, and body ground. The side posts are block ground, starter, and alternator.

I hate side posts too. 00 Camaro, series 86 fits perfectly.

so im 100% into this and have thought about it myself.

adding anything to the side terminals using a side post extender is tought to get tight. I have a 0 gauge wire going to a fuse off my battery in case my mechman has a failure and to prevent too much getting to the rest of the electronics. the problem is that i also have my duel fuel pumps wired to the battery too. So obviously you want them tight but the boot covers make it really tough to get it feeling tight. Right when i think its about tight i strip out the brass post extender thingy. did that twice. so i did remove the red boot on the hot side and that helps get it a little tighter feeling. sorry about the rant lol
