Not sure on LS applications because Ive never needed one. I have a dual battery setup with lights and a winch going in my bronco.

 

Tuff Stuff makes a great alternator.

I use Pure Power from Tuscon Alternator 250A direct bolt in for my 2K TA

The OEM rear aluminum alternator bracket to head is not used for this install - which allowed for a great mounting point for 1/0 cable ground to frame

Big 3 Upgrade 1/0 cable is needed to run an alternator with this rating

 

Powermaster is always my #1 choice. They have a variety of finishes and amperage ratings for most applications, it's really the only aftermarket brand I would consider. Site sponsor Summit Racing sells their whole catalog worth of offerings.

 

I have their alternators in my truck and Hawk. Been happy with the the both of them. Required a bit of massaging to fit with the procharger on the Hawk, but made it happen.

 

Mechman is what you are looking for

 

Before you buy, always ask for the alternator output profile. What will the alternator output for amps and volts at idle RPM? It does you no good if the alternator does its best work only at far, far above idle.
