Default Opinions please

Im thinking of getting a new sub for my TA. My amp went out and I replaced it with a Audiobahn 4002T amp. I got it thinking I was going to put a steath box from JL in. After looking around I saw this subthump box. After looking at it Im thinking of keeping my MTX Thunder 8000 12" and just getting one of those boxes for it. The onlything is that I really bought this amp with the JL in mind. What I want to know is what do you think will sound better? The one JL 10 or the one MTX 12?

I would guess the jl would sound much better. A 10w6v2 would fit in that box, with a modification fee as you can see in the small print beneath the picture, and you can bet the sound quality will be much higher as well. Also the JL perfectly matches the amp you have at 400wrms. I'm not sure about the excursion of the 8000 series but the JL's max-x is 15 mm which is pretty good for a small enclosure sub like that. I would go w/ the JL myself. Of course what sounds best to me might sound like *** to you. I would try and hear the sub in a car before i made my final decision, or if you can't find one in a car, Good Guys are a big JL dealer so you can check one out there. Hope this gives you some ideas.

Either sub will sound much better and louder in the milhouse box than the 10 in the stealthbox. I can guarantee you that. A 12" T8000 is a good sub and the box is matched perfect for it. I say use what ya got first and see if you like it. Then make adjustments based on that. JMO
