Need a radar detector
Thanks in advance,
Ralph
It's K band and laser that's used mostly in NYS.
Tony, I realize I won't save that much time, 5 or 10 minutes tops, but it will be good for when I'm in a rush. I also need it for when the Camaro is completed, as I'm sure that will be a cop magnet.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
The V1 will tell where the signal is coming from and how many signals.
The X50 has a better filter, IMHO. But it does not come with a direct-wire to hard wire it in. (The V1 does come with one.)
Both work great though, so you pick it.
Peace,
Craig.
I seriously doubt that there are very many of the "wannabes" you mention. Sure, some people have unmarked car look-alikes but they don't often go to the extent of adding antennas and stuff. If you see such a car it's always safer to assume it really is a cop.

Yes he can try to pace you but if your aware of your surroundings at all times by checking the mirrors and watch the idiots around you, that trick isn't effective.
There have been more than a few times per year when I was driving by the local police station, they left their radar gun on in the police car parked on the side of the road (the police station is right across the street from where they park the cars).
back when i got mine about 4 months ago, i went with a whistler 17something. it's rated in the top 5 best detectors, but it only costs about $300 less than a V1. the whistler also has a feature that allows you to disable X band (which hardly any big-city cops use anyway). so with the X band off, there is absolutely nothing to filter. the range is slightly less than the V1 as well, but both push way beyond the "safe point" of detection, which is 1.5 miles. so the difference after that distance is mostly unimportant unless you are frequently driving 110+. i couldn't be happier with my whistler, and i definitely could not justify the extra $300 to get four arrows

Peace,
Craig.

I asked how much you paid for your detector, because I had a $99 one for about 4 years.
I posted about the POP thing so that youand others would know that NOW they do have it.
