AC Delco Batteries Blow!!!
My T/A's AC Delco battery took a dump, literally. Battery acid all over the freaking place. I was just about to slap a Optima Red Top in it and now I have to, as well as the battery cables.
I recommend every to ditch theirs if they still have one, I heard alot of bad things about these batteries and now I know it first hand.
Peace,
Craig.

It's common on all sidepost batteries, including Delco. The warranty on the battery is 3/36 if original - period. If you paid cash for the battery, you get the warranty on the top (probably 6 years, prorated, battery only - no labor). You might try calling ACDelco directly and see if they will help you - don't hold your breath though. Get an Optima and be done with it. Done forget to clean, neutralize, and undercoat the acid damaged areas.

Damn, my 2001 Trans Am's original AC Delco took a dump last night. Seem's all the 01's posting have this problem right now. Mine leak acid so bad that it split the positive terminal into 2! Had to get the car towed last night and need a new battery and terminals. Couldn't believe it, never had this kind of problem with a battery....

I'm not sure what you guys in TX are doing to your batteries but I'm still running the stock Delco battery from '98 in my car..........Maybe it's all the summer heat you get down there that kills the battery so fast?

I had to replace the stock Delco a month ago. It had a dead cell. It did have some corrosion on the positive terminal, but it cleaned up nicely with some baking soda and water.

Delco batteries are by far the worst for leaking at the positive terminal.
I replace at least 4 a week in the summer time in customer cars.

10 years ago delco is all we would sell at the shop they were damm good. They are complete crap now. I cannot think how many we have changed in the last 8-10 years. Optimas are all we sell now if they want something cheaper they can buy em I do not want to hear the whining associated with well your battery did blah blah blah .
