Starter Wire Location?
Starter Wire Location? Hey im trying to install a starter kill... im going to hook it up to a factory button so that i have to press a button WHILe turning the key in order for the car to start...
I cant find the starter wire though, i would like to access it from wherever there is the most space, i have a 2001 v6 bird, does the starter wire run under that glove box panel? or will i have better luck under the hood where the starter relay is?
i found the starter relay and i attached wire to the coil posts and pluged it back in, then i attached one wire to the batt and the other i tapped to the chassis, it made a loud pop/bang, did i just almost hotwire my car? or did i break something? i am assuming it is the starter solenoid i just activated?

the starter wire is right under neath the steering wheel. i belive it is the thick pink (poissibly yellow) wire in the ignition harness, but i could be wrong, i would have to check when i get home
hey thanks... but wouldnt that be like the first place a theif is going to look for a starter kill? where does the yellow wire go after that? does it exit the cabin through the firewall on the passenger side? i remember seeing a large yellow wire behind the glove box...

lol unfortunately thats why i have questions, he says 4th gen starter kill, but he did that on a 96 camaro and i have an 01 bird, i couldnt find any of the wires he was talking about in that guide.... thats why im here.

well then dont use the wires i told you, they were for an LS1 camaro
